Annual Rabbit Hunt
The tradition continues.....

The annual rabbit hunt is one of the free perks for Flint Bowmen members.  It is held at one of our members, Steve Fralicks’ hunting cabin in Prescott MI.  This is a bow only shoot so most of the rabbits are safe.  We do usually get a lot of shots and once in a while an arrow finds a rabbit.  I think one year, we even got two rabbits.

Most hunters usually get about 3 to 5 shots. The key is shoot, don’t wait for the perfect shot as sometimes it doesn’t happen. The rabbits have a mind of their own since they don’t want to be caught by the dogs that are chasing them.  We have two guys who don’t hunt but they bring their beagles to chase the rabbits by the hunters.  Some times, it actually works like it is suppose to.

Please note that broadheads are not allowed. You must use a blunt or Judo point.  You will also need a small game license and hunter’s orange is required by law.

Steve does make a fantastic chili lunch where the rabbit stories fill the air.  If you go once, you will surely be back next year because it's a great time.  The person who does get the biggest rabbit wins the privilege to deer hunt for 3 days at Steve’s place in the fall for free.
