Youth Winter Competitive League

IMG_20181020_105450

This is a competitive archery league and each child will need their own equipment, Flint Bowmen will NOT be renting equipment for this league.

The range monitors will not be providing instruction, however, they can and will provide guidance if an archer asks a question or if the range monitors notice something obvious that the archer is doing wrong.

This league will be on Saturday mornings and run for 8 weeks, but will shoot for 9 weeks. The league start date will be January 19, 2019. March 2, 2019 will be a week off as the club will be hosting an SVAA tournament this week.

Last week of shooting will be March 23, 2019 and the banquet will be held on March 30, 2019.

League sign in and practice will begin at 8:30 am and scoring will begin at 9 am, this should have us wrapping up right around lunch time. The first week’s score will be used for a bank score and to help establish an average. This score would then be used if an archer is absent for one week.   Make ups will be allowed for archers that can’t make it a week. Make ups will be done before, during break, and after league the week after the missed week. Other arrangements maybe made with the league runner if an absence is known ahead of time.

We have room for 35 children to shoot in this league, ages can range from 7 to 18 years old.  These 35 slots will be filled based on first come first served preregistration with paid in full league fees. After the slots are filled up we will begin a wait-list. It may be possible to have an am and pm time slot if range monitors can be found for the afternoon time slot. Preregistering will be required and payment in full within 10 days of receiving the registration confirmation number is required. There is a $20 league fee and a $5/week shooting fee for members, and a $6/week shooting fee for non-members. Total league fees for members is $65 and nonmembers are $74.

Scoring:
Targets will be the NFAA single spot and 5-spot targets for 5 weeks of the league and Fita
targets will be used the remaining 4 weeks of the league. Each archer will have the choice to shoot at either style target each week. It is recommended that if an archer is damaging arrows they move to the multi-spot target face to minimize the damage to arrows and keep the parents cost down, however, this is not a requirement.
